Stay at Easton
Just 20 minutes from Stamford, Easton Holiday Cottages offer a peaceful place to stay in the Lincolnshire countryside, surrounded by the historic Easton Estate and its 12-acre Walled Gardens.
Our collection of cottages has grown from a desire to give old estate buildings a new life. Each has its own character, from cosy May Lodge for two to larger cottages for family and friends. They make an ideal base for exploring Stamford, Rutland and the surrounding countryside — or simply for staying put and enjoying Easton.
Guests staying with us have the added pleasure of Easton Walled Gardens on their doorstep. Wander through meadows and borders, beneath old trees and along the terraces, and watch the garden change through the seasons. Snowdrops begin the gardening year, followed by spring blossom and bulbs, while summer brings roses, meadow flowers and Easton’s renowned sweet peas.
May Lodge
Tucked away close to the Courtyard at Easton Walled Gardens, May Lodge is our cosiest cottage. Sleeping two, it has a woodburning stove, its own outdoor space and everything you need for a comfortable country escape.
A country escape close to Stamford
The Cholmeley family has lived at Easton since 1561. For generations, life here centred around Easton Hall and its gardens, until the upheavals of the 20th century changed the estate forever. The Hall was eventually demolished and, for decades, the gardens were largely left to nature.
In 2001, Ursula and Fred Cholmeley began the long process of bringing the gardens back to life. Rather than recreating a garden from another age, the surviving walls, terraces, bridge and other historic structures became the framework for the garden you see today.
That same approach runs through our holiday cottages. Historic estate buildings have been carefully restored and adapted into comfortable places to stay, retaining their individual character while providing everything needed for a relaxing break.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic weekend away, a dog-friendly cottage or somewhere for family and friends to gather, Easton is wonderfully placed for exploring this part of England. Stamford is around 20 minutes away, with Grantham, Rutland and many of the area’s country houses, villages and walks within easy reach.

Stamford is one of England’s loveliest market towns, known for its Georgian streets, independent shops, cafés and historic buildings. From Easton, it’s an easy drive for a morning’s shopping, lunch or an evening out before returning to the quiet of the Estate.
