Around 20 minutes from Bourne, Easton Holiday Cottages offer a peaceful place to stay on a historic country estate in the Lincolnshire countryside.
Our collection of cottages has grown from a desire to give old estate buildings a new life. Each has its own character, from cosy cottages for two to larger houses for family and friends. With Bourne, Stamford and the villages of south Lincolnshire within easy reach, Easton makes a lovely base for exploring this quieter corner of the county.
Guests staying with us also have Easton Walled Gardens on their doorstep. The 12-acre gardens have been restored over the past 25 years and are particularly special early in the morning and towards evening, when staying guests can enjoy them outside normal visitor hours.
Through the year there is always something different to see: snowdrops and spring bulbs, blossom and roses, meadow flowers and, in summer, Easton’s renowned sweet peas.
A country escape close to Bourne
The Cholmeley family has lived at Easton since 1561. For generations, life here centred around Easton Hall and its gardens, until the upheavals of the 20th century changed the Estate forever. The Hall was eventually demolished and, for decades, the gardens were largely left to nature.
In 2001, Ursula and Fred Cholmeley began the long process of bringing the gardens back to life. Rather than recreating a garden from another age, the surviving walls, terraces, bridge and other historic structures became the framework for the garden you see today.
That same approach runs through our holiday cottages. Old estate buildings have been carefully restored and adapted into comfortable places to stay, retaining their individual character and their connection with Easton.
Whether you’re looking for a weekend away, a dog-friendly cottage or somewhere for family and friends to gather, Easton is well placed for exploring Bourne, Stamford, the Lincolnshire countryside and the neighbouring Rutland and Vale of Belvoir.
The Lofts at Easton
Set within the historic buildings of Easton Walled Gardens, The Lofts are a relaxed and flexible place to stay, whether you’re visiting for a single night or planning a longer break.
Choose from The Hay Loft or one of our two Coach House Lofts, each carefully converted to create a comfortable, characterful space for two. Coach House Lofts 1 and 2 can also be taken together, making them a useful option for friends or family travelling together.
Step outside and the gardens are quite literally on your doorstep. Guests have unlimited access to Easton Walled Gardens throughout their stay, including when the gardens are closed to day visitors — a particularly lovely time to explore in the early morning or evening.
With Bourne, Stamford and the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside within easy reach, The Lofts make an ideal base for a short country escape.
Explore Bourne and south Lincolnshire
Bourne is a small Lincolnshire market town surrounded by open countryside, villages and woodland. From Easton, it is an easy drive across country and a useful starting point for exploring further into south Lincolnshire.
This is a part of England that rewards taking your time. Spend a morning in one of the local market towns, visit a country house or garden, stop for lunch in a village pub, or simply head out for a walk before returning to Easton.
Stamford, Rutland and the Vale of Belvoir are also within easy reach, giving you plenty to explore without having to spend your holiday travelling long distances.
